Geisha Back FAQ

How do I know if the Geisha Back is something that will help me?

If your upper back has lost its flexibility and if you are experiencing pain focused mostly between your shoulder blades or your lower back then the Geisha Back is for you.

How does the Geisha Back increase my flexibility?

The Geisha Back is a gentle acupressure type assist to help you relieve the tension in your back muscles along the spine.

What is my Spinal Curve and how does the Geisha Back improve it?

The Geisha Back helps by gently softening the long muscles in your back located along your spine. By relaxing these muscles it allows each vertebrae to move more freely, unlocking your spinal rigidity and bringing relief. While normal curvature of your spine is designed with curve at your neck, upper back, and lower back... if your muscles are too tight that normal curvature is lost. Most people who have lost this curvature find that they have less flexibility and have a forward bending in their upper back. The Geisha Back is designed so that its "e;bumps"e; ergonomically use your pressure points to help relieve tension. By relaxing the muscle tissue, you will be able to stand up straighter.

What is a Pressure Point, where are they along my spine, and why is the Geisha Back designed to reach them gently?

The Pressure Points that we are speaking of when using the Geisha back are tender areas on either side of the spine between the vertebrae. The Geisha Back is curved with the bumps on top to gently reach into these pressure points offering an acupressure release. If there is a very tender painful spot, move the Geisha Back above and below that spot to begin softening around the area. After those areas have been worked on, move the Geisha Back to the initial painful spot. By releasing the tension in the surrounding area first, then going back to the point of origin, you will find the muscle release much gentler. When the tender and tight spots on your back have relaxed, your spine and muscles will be more flexible. When your spine and muscles have normal flexibility, your spine will be allowed to realign itself into its natural pain free position and your normal curvature will be improved.

How long do I need to use it to get results... during each session and over time?

Results should happen within a few days with faithful usage of a few minutes three or four times per day.

My back hurts and gets stiff on long car trips, can the Geisha Back help with this?

The Geisha Back is perfect for support in cars without built in adjustable low back supports. Simply place the Geisha Back with the flat side towards your body behind the small of your back. For those painful areas in the upper back, place the Geisha Back with the bumps toward your body at the upper level between your shoulder blades. Allow the Geisha Back to rest in that first position for a few seconds to allow the muscles to begin releasing. After a few seconds lean slightly forward and allow the Geisha Back to slide slightly further down your spine. Lean back again and hold it in place for a few seconds before repeating the same procedure again. You may need to let it travel the length of your spine two or three times to soften the muscle tissue. After that, place the Geisha Back at the exact level of the most discomfort and lean back.
